การใช้ "Suggest"
เราสามารถใช้ Suggest ได้ใน 3 รูปแบบที่แตกต่างกันแต่มีความหมายเหมือนกัน โดยทั้ง 3 รูปแบบนี้อาจจะดูยุ่งยากเล็กน้อย ดังนั้น คุณจำเป็นต้องใส่ใจรายละเอียดให้มาก Suggest สามารถถูกตามหลังได้ด้วย gerund หรือคำคุณศัพท์ที่แสดงความเป็นเจ้าของ + gerund เมื่อ gerund ไม่ได้อ้างถึงประธานของประโยค
ตัวอย่างเช่น
- He suggested going to Glastonbury.
- He suggested my going to Glastonbury.
- I suggested visiting your grandmother.
- I suggested your visiting your grandmother.
นอกจากนี้ Suggest ยังสามารถถูกตามด้วย that + ประธาน + should + กริยา ได้อีกด้วย แต่ในอนุประโยคเหล่านี้ทั้ง that และ should สามารถละได้ โดยละประธานหลังคำกริยา suggest
