ลำดับของคำ
ในการสร้างประโยคคำถามใน reported speech จะใช้การเรียงลำดับคำตามปกติ คือ ประธานมาก่อนกริยา และไม่จำเป็นต้องใช้ 'do' หรือ 'did':

ใน reported speech สามารถสร้างคำถามโดยใช้ 'ask' (หรือคำกริยาอื่น ๆ ที่มีความหมายเหมือน 'ask') + คำที่ใช้เป็นคำถาม + อนุประโยค ให้เรียงลำดับของคำตามปกติและเปลี่ยน tense หากจำเป็น
